Introduction

Many of you know the story of Robin Hood. The man who stole from the rich and gave the goods to the poor. You also may have seen the movies of Robin Hood, but what you didn't know is that such a person might have existed back then. Robin Hood now symbolizes the triumph of good over evil. Also the named Robin Hood is just a nickname so there are lots of Robin Hood stories out there.

About William

William de Fevre was Robin Hood in the year 1261. He lived in Yorkshire, England and was named an outlaw by the sheriff of Nottingham. He then escaped to Sherwood Forest. There he joined a band of outlaws. The band of outlaws was called the "merry men." In Sherwood Forest is where he then gained his fame by stealing from the rich and giving to the poor. From then on most outlaws got the name Robin Hood.

True OR False

Many people believe the Robin Hood was a real man while others believe he is an imaginary person. The earliest references of Robin Hood date back to the 14Th century. Some stories say that he was born in 1280 and married a woman named Matilda, while other say he lived in 1261. So how could he be born in 1280 and have stories dating back to 1261. There is still much doubt weather he is fiction or non-fiction.
